Adrian Chamberlain – Chief Executive Officer
Adrian Chamberlain joined MessageLabs as Chief Executive Officer in February 2006. Adrian worked for Cable & Wireless for nine years in several leadership roles, culminating in his appointment to the main board in 2002. During his time there he managed the UK’s largest cable TV, telephony and internet operation, launching the world’s first digital cable TV service. He also spent eighteen months in Asia Pacific running the Consumer and Multimedia Division of Optus, a large telecommunications company. Prior to joining MessageLabs he was Main Board Director and CEO Europe for Lend Lease, a major construction, retail and property development company. Adrian brings a consistent track record of wealth creation, international expertise, technology management and public company board experience to MessageLabs. He is a graduate of both Cambridge University and the London Business School.
Stephen Chandler – Chief Financial Officer
Stephen Chandler has served as Chief Financial Officer and Director of MessageLabs since 1999 and additionally serves as President of MessageLabs EMEA. As well as overseeing the finance function, Stephen’s responsibilities encompass strategy and planning, M&A, investor relations and management of the legal and commercial team. From 1995 to 2000, he was a Director in the Technology, Media and Telecoms Team of UBS Warburg. Stephen qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Deloitte & Touche. He has an honors degree in economics from Exeter University and is a member of the Securities Institute.
Jos White – Chief Marketing Officer and co-founder
Jos White co-founded MessageLabs with his brother Ben in 1999 and since that time has served as Chief Marketing Officer for the company. In this role Jos has developed MessageLabs brand, market strategy and communications programs. Jos was also responsible for launching MessageLabs in the US market in 2003 and has served as President of MessageLabs in the Americas region since that time. Prior to co-founding MessageLabs, Jos was co-founder and Chief Marketing Officer at Star Internet, one of the UK’s largest ISP’s, and previously was the Marketing Director of RBR Networks, a Cisco supplier that grew into Cisco’s largest distributor in Europe before being sold to Datatec in 1998. Prior to that Jos was with the Leo Burnett advertising agency in London. He received a B.A. honors degree in English Literature from London University.
Noel Leslie – Chief Technology Officer
Noel Leslie joined MessageLabs in February 2008 as Chief Technology Officer. Noel drives all global research and development and is responsible for the ongoing evolution of MessageLabs product vision and technology strategy. Prior to joining MessageLabs, Noel was Executive Vice President of Chello Interactive, part of Chellomedia, the Content and Services arm of Liberty Global. Previous to that, Noel held several senior management positions at Cable & Wireless. Experienced in managing multi-national teams from the UK, across both the IT and telecommunication industries, Noel also has a strong understanding of the APAC region having spent two years working in Australia. Noel has an Electronic Engineering degree from the University of Sheffield and an executive MBA from Cranfield School of Management.
Janet Somerville – Senior Vice President Marketing
Janet Somerville joined MessageLabs in June 2007 as Senior Vice President of Marketing. In this position Janet has responsibility for driving product marketing, demand generation and customer satisfaction programs across MessageLabs. With more than twenty years marketing experience, Janet has held executive positions and provided consultation to leading organizations throughout the US and UK. Prior to joining MessageLabs Janet was the Marketing Director at Cable & Wireless and has also held positions including Consumer Marketing Director at ntl and VP Global Marketing at ICO. Janet received an MBA from City University Business School in London.
Chris Tottman – Senior Vice President Human Resources
Chris Tottman is Senior Vice President of Human Resources at MessageLabs responsible for executing the company's organizational vision to support global expansion and growth strategies. Chris joined as the Chief Commercial Officer of MessageLabs Group in 1999 and was responsible for sales strategy in both Star and MessageLabs until 2004 when he also became the interim CEO of Star Internet until December 2005. Prior to MessageLabs Chris spent a decade working in leadership roles in the financial services sector including Lehman Bros, Zurich Life and Old Mutual.
David Francis – Senior Vice President Operations
As Senior Vice President of Operations, David Francis is responsible for the delivery of all services to the MessageLabs client base, including: infrastructure deployment; provisioning; client care; client service management; support and security. David joined MessageLabs in August 2003 as Vice President of Technical Services and has held a number of senior management roles within the company across Operations, Research and Development. David has been in the telecommunications and computer services industry for over a quarter of a century, working on both sides of the Atlantic. Prior to MessageLabs David had worked at Mirror Image Internet, Info'Products, Centre-file/National Westminster Bank and BT.
James Palmer – Senior Vice President Strategy & Business Development
As Senior Vice President of Strategy and Business Development, James Palmer is responsible for the continued refinement of company strategy and analysis of market opportunities. Prior to joining MessageLabs in February 2008, James was a senior business consultant working with clients such as Cable & Wireless and Ofcom. Prior to this he spent over ten years in senior management roles at Cable & Wireless, leading strategy, business development and marketing functions. During his tenure at Cable & Wireless James was also CEO of C&W Panama, managing 4,500 employees and overseeing 500,000 customers with revenues of over £300 million. James graduated from St John’s College, Cambridge with a MA (Hons) in Mathematics.
